Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji stirred slightly in is sleep, causing the thick ice to crack around him. It had been several days since he had fallen into his dreamless sleep. The only thing repeating in his head was the sound of JaeJoong's voice, soft and beautiful, comforting him as he slept. His cocoon shattered as the demon opened his eyes. The ice had melted slightly around his body, soaking his clothes. But he didn't care about that. At the moment, the warmth of his apartment was a shock to his system. He didn't expect that his magic would disappear completely while in a hibernation. In attempt to walk to the living room, he stumbled, his legs feeling uneasy from not moving in days.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
The ice that had formed around his boss scared Jae at first, when he had fallen asleep, but it seemed as if it was harmless. So, he came and went from the large apartment, going to his new job and doing the best he could to handle everything. Of course, putting half of what he had earned on his first day into his somewhat dusty bank account had been a somewhat bad idea. He had not had anything to eat since the day before, since half of what was left had gone to a meager amount of groceries and the rest towards meals. Today, though, he had just sprawled himself on Shinji's couch when he returned from the ice cream parlor, letting sleep distract him from the empty feeling in his stomach.

The demon made his way into the living room, hating the effect the heat was having on him. He was about to cover his home in ice in one fell swoop, until he saw JaeJoong laying on the couch. Instead, he walked over and leaned over the back of the couch looking at the man. He tilted his head, thinking that Jae looked peaceful, but rather tired too. A couple drops of water fell from his hair onto his guests face. Reaching out, he wiped them off his skin, turning his eyes down JaeJoong's body when he heard the other's stomach growl, and smiled.

The droplets of water on his cheek mad Jae stir slightly, Shinji's touch and the sudden grumbling of his stomach pulling him into a half-awake state. His eyes fluttered open for a moment, but closed again quickly as he turned onto his side and buried his face in one of the pillows in an attempt to go back to sleep.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
The demon couldn't stop a chuckle as JaeJoong rolled over to go back to sleep. Clearly the other was tired, and Shinji was curious as to why. He didn't imagine that Jae had been going to the shop, but when he thought about it again, he didn't want to rule it out. He felt his own stomach growl and decided it would be a good idea to get some food for the both of them. Though, he wasn't entirely sure what to get. The food he normally ate was too much for Jae's stomach, and there was nowhere close by that he could get that type of food for the his guest. Unless, he made it of course. The only problem was, he wasn't really the type to cook hot foods.
He decided to try anyway, but went to his room to change clothing first. He put on a simple white button-up shirt, black slacks and waistcoat. Looking at himself, he figured he looked a lot like a waiter, or a butler without the jacket and gloves. After fixing himself up, he went into the kitchen and began preparing some soup with tofu and udon noodles he had left in his kitchen.

He did manage to doze off again, but the smell of cooking food woke him back up completely. He was practically ravenous, and had been more than afraid to touch anything in Shinji's cupboards without permission from the demon. And it wasn't like he could use the few groceries he had bought, since those were for when he went home. "...Shinj'...?" he mumbled, the name not even coming out right as he rubbed his eyes. Jae got up, going and peering into the kitchen. "...d'you want help...?" he asked quietly.

Shinji looked up for a moment, pushing his glasses up with the back of his hand as he held a knife. "Umm, only if I'm not cooking something properly. I don't normally cook hot foods," he looked back at the noodles that were boiling. He had finished cutting up the tofu to add to the mixed vegetables he had sauteed with other herbs. He was basically just doing guess work, but he figured he just might need a broth now to make it an actual soup instead of just noodles and vegetables.

"...ah, here..." he said softly, washing his hands quickly before looking through the nearly-empty cupboards for a few minutes. Jae pulled out the few spices and such that he could find, adding a little of each to the soup Shinji was making. He wanted to eat some of it right there and then, but it wasn't ready, so Jae held off. "Once you're done putting in what you want in it, just cover it halfway and let it boil down to get the extra water out...o-okay?"

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
The demon blinked as he watched Jae move around the kitchen. It was pretty clear to him that Jae knew what he was doing, at least more than Shinji did. When Jae gave him instructions, he could only nod in response. He followed the orders, putting in everything he had cut up and stirred it in lightly before putting on the lid. Even if the stove was hot, the smell coming from it wasn't bad. Even better after Jae had done his part.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
He watched as Shinji did what Jae had said he should, frowning a bit and leaving the kitchen silently. As much as he wanted to be around the other man, the demon's lack of a verbal answer left Jae feeling as if he had done something wrong in a way. He sat back on the floor and leaned against the couch, closing his eyes.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji blinked as he watched Jae leave the kitchen, a little confused. It seemed that he had done something to upset the other man, but he wasn't entirely sure what it could have been. His communication with other people hadn't been very good in hundreds of years. He filled a couple glasses with water, bringing them out into the living room and holding one out to Jae. "Hey...Are you thirsty at all?"
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
He blinked, looking up at Shinji when he spoke. "...yes, actually...thank you..." he said quietly, taking the glass offered to him and drinking some of the water. It was wonderfully cold, and rather refreshing, too. A lot like the strange relationship he now had with Shinji. Jae sighed softly, frowning a bit.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji took a seat on the couch by his guest and set his glass down on the coffee table. "Is there something wrong?" he questioned quietly. He wasn't sure of what to talk about, but he figured maybe this would help with the silence, and the sighing. The demon didn't know why, but he was also genuinely curious of if something bothered Jae.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Jae shook his head a little bit in response, laying his head in Shinji's knee. "No...nothing's wrong," he said softly, closing his eyes. "At least I don't think there is..." The last bit was practically an afterthought, though, since he wasn't exactly sure.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji blinked at the head placed on his knee. He wasn't particularly fond of people being that close to him, but he figured it couldn't hurt to let JaeJoong sit like that for a little while. "I see..." he spoke quietly. The demon was usually pretty good at fixing things, one way or another, but he couldn't do anything if he didn't know what the problem was. And with Jae unsure as well, he just sat there looking at the floating ice in his glass.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
In any other situation, JaeJoong would have simply remained silent. He wouldn't have wanted to bother the other male, but...there was something sort of nagging at him. "...did you sleep well...?" he asks, his voice almost a whisper. The Bai Ze was unsure if it was a good idea to ask or not, but he figured he'd chance it anyways.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji nearly didn't hear the other male at first. He was a little lost in thought on what to do. When he recognized the question, he nodded slightly, even though Jae wasn't looking in his direction. "I did, thank you. Your singing was very helpful..." he spoke quietly, almost as quiet as Jae had.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
"I'm glad," he murmurs, smiling faintly. He was glad that he had been able to do something useful for the ice demon, instead of just take up space. Really, that was what he thought he had been doing the past few days - being there, with no reason or purpose.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
"I apologize for being asleep so long. Were you able to manage being here alright?" he tilted his head slightly. The demon really had no idea how long he had actually slept for. He figured it was maybe a day, but when he's in a hibernation state, he could even be out for weeks, or even much longer depending on his physical and mental states when going under. He really did find it a neusense, but that is the one thing he hadn't quite figured out how to control just yet.
Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
He blinks. Why was he apologizing? The ice demon had needed the rest, so there was nothing to be saying sorry for. "It's alright...it was only a few days. I managed..." he answers quietly. JaeJoong smiles faintly, trying to be reassuring. He isn't sure if he succeeds at it, though.

Re: Aikagi | JaeJoong
Shinji sighed slightly. He didn't like the thought of making him fend for himself for days. "Either way, I'm glad it wasn't longer than that..." he returned the smile a little. "Do you think that soup is finished?" he asks. The smell of the food was now floating in the air, and to Shinji, it smelled rather good. His stomach was even getting ready to growl.
